The processor is the part of the system that has most impact on the speed of your computer. A slow processor will never run a complex game or manage photo editing very quickly. The components that make up the rest of the computer effectively throttle the performance of a processor. Processors can be upgraded and sometimes the main circuit board (motherboard) will support a faster version of the processor that is installed but most often a new motherboard is required. Intel and AMD measure their processors differently and direct comparisons are difficult to make. Multi Core processors are effectively more than one processor on a single chip. |
